New Manufacturing Facility
TankWorx installed complete equipment, including mechanical equipment, for a new gypsum facility. We installed dryers, silos/bolted tanks, board line, conveyors, and elevators. We also fabricated and installed all the project’s structural steel, piping, and hoppers.

Field Tank Construction + Installation

Plant Expansion
TankWorx assisted in an expansion project in Baton Rouge, LA. We were responsible for the civil, structural, equipment installation, and construction of a high-pressure double-walled API-620 tank.

Train 1 + 2 Install
TankWorx fabricated and installed more than 14,000 linear feet of piping. The contract’s scope included civil foundations and setting all process equipment, including tanks, vessels, conveyor systems, pumps, grouting, and equipment alignment. We erected the flare stack, installed process tubing, and tested and commissioned the unit.

Coal Dumper Install
TankWorx demolished an existing coal dumper. We assembled the new railcar dumper in the field with a new structure. The coal dumper weighed 168 tons, and we coordinated all lifts and equipment settings.

Internal Coil Replacement
TankWorx completed reactor maintenance during a scheduled turnaround, including head removal, coil and clip replacement, and nozzle sleeve machining and welding. The new coils were installed and secured, the reactor head was realigned and set, and all head bolts were torqued to specification.

MS Unit Expansion

Scope included large-scale equipment removal, structural repairs and expansion, installation of 6,000 LF of piping and 4,355 welds (100% PMI per ASME B31.3), new columns, pumps, heat exchangers, foundations, and custom skids.

SCP Unit Expansion
TankWorx supported a chemical manufacturer on an SCP Unit Expansion, providing demolition, site prep, engineering support, and full execution. Scope included large-scale equipment removal, structural repairs and expansion, installation of 16,000 LF of piping and 9,108 welds (100% PMI per ASME B31.3), new columns, pumps, heat exchangers, foundations, and custom skids.

Dehydro Piping
TankWorx completed a 2,800ft piping expansion from the SCP Unit to the flare and from the SCP to the TK-806 Tank on a 10-degree slope. This involved TankWorx designing a pipe support (approved by engineering) that could be mounted on a pipe rack made from pipe using double U-bolts and an angle to set the pipe at the required elevation to provide the necessary slope.

Underground Cooling Water Pipe Repair
TankWorx executed a cooling water repair on the units’ leaking cooling water piping. The unit was down for approximately 6 hours, and the repair was completed during that window before turning the cooling water back on. This involved the pre-planning of hydro excavation, cutting, and tying the new piping.

Cat OVH Piping Repair
TankWorx executed a weld repair on a 60” overhead line on a Cat cracker in Southeast, LA. This took approximately 3 shifts to chase the crack all the way around, constantly PT testing to ensure there are no more cracks. It turns out that more than 75% of the weld was cracked. We rewelded the piping in 1.5 shifts and performed PAUT afterward.

PVC Blowdown Tank Replacement
TankWorx executed the blowdown tank project in Southeast, LA. This involved demolition of fireproofing, another of the project’s preplanning steps (hanging blind tags, tagging piping to be reused, painting demo piping, and lining out the UT readings). We successfully removed the structure on top of the tanks and associated piping, removed the tanks and installed new ones, reinstalled the existing structure, and installed new and old piping.

Project Bayou Piping Fabrication
